Random observations for the day
Major lesson learnt:
Major achievement:
Exercise:
Things that made me annoyed:
Things that made me happy:
Things that made me sad:
- Don't leave a bunch of celery in an open ended plastic bag in the main part of the fridge. (Unless you like floppy celery).
Major achievement:
- Getting Zoe to clean up her array of Barbie dolls (etc) that were laid out all over the playroom floor.
Exercise:
- Went out and skipped with the girls on the driveway out the front (skipping being the current craze at school).. after taking measures to deal with potential fallout from lax pelvic floor muscle syndrome and jumping up and down.
- that it's easier to do 'peppers' than normal skipping.
- that there will always be one part of my body that will object to this type of behaviour; in this case my knee started twingeing.
- inadequate time spent in exertion.
- must do better tomorrow - either walk, run, ride, skip, or combination thereof.
Things that made me annoyed:
- Caitlin telling me at 10.55 (while I was still decadently lying in bed listening to the radio) that she was supposed to be at a (postponed from 2 weeks ago) party at 11.00.
- Children (viz. Caitlin and Alison) who don't move when you say 'bedtime'.
- people who get in your way when you are striving to achieve (see point about swimming below.. I could have done a faster time in last four laps if it wasn't for someone slowing me down!)
Things that made me happy:
- having a humungous sleep in... having nowhere I had to be by a certain time.
- Caitlin being patient about not getting to said party till after 12.00.
- that I can actually skip still
- Watching Dr Who tonight.
- The Swans won last night!!!
- I had a good swim again last night... am nothing if not consistent - did 19:15 again.
- My skiting about my swimming time made Alison swim faster so she could beat me. (she did 18:38 and her coach was rapt.)
- Listening to The Cat Empire while typing this.
Things that made me sad:
- It being (another) weekend without Marc. Always felt more acutely on a weekend if you happen to see other families out together. Vague shitty feeling intensified when Marc sends photo of him enjoying himself at the Australia vs India 1 day match in KL. (I mean, dammit, he's not meant to have a good time over there!)
- when he is away we do stuff like having half-arsed meals for dinner. Tonight was chicken burgers. I make the kids take responsibility for making them.
- no snoring
